The Landsat-8 satellite was launched on 02/11/13 and was officially transferred to the USGS on 05/30/13. For FY2010 and FY2011, the Landsat program was funded at the $59.6M level. For FY2012, the USGS Landsat operations budget of $99.8M included $48M for the establishment of National Land Imaging Program (NLIP), a permanent budgetary and managerial home for the Landsat program.
